Works great as a carseat carrier for traveling!, March 4, 2015

We used this as a car seat carrier in the airport during a trip with a long layover. It worked perfectly! We used an S-carabiner and the latch straps to secure it, had our toddler ride in it, and then folded it down to put in the overhead bins on the airplane itself. Way better (and less expensive) than the official “carseat carriers” on the market!

We purchased this cart to carry our Diono car seat (and kid) when traveling through airports. It was easier to pull the car seat and kid rather than trying to carry both plus our own luggage. And you can roll the cart with Diono car seat straight onto the plane. It easily rolled down the isle of Delta, Alaska and Jet Blue airplanes.

This cart is sturdy enough to hold the car seat and kid. It is easy to open and unfold when loading car seat, and small and compact when putting through airport screening and overhead compartment on the plane. Place the car seat on the cart, strap a bungee cord through the bottom of the car seat (as you would a seat belt strap in the car) and pull and secure both ends of bungee to each other behind the cart.

We did a ton of research before traveling as we did not want to be the fumbling idiot parents holding up lines at the airport. This cart was perfect for our needs. I am not sure how this product works with other car seat brands but I highly recommend if you have a Diono.

Used this as a car seat carrier with my son in his car seat as we made our way through the airport. I attached his car seat using a tight bungee cord. It worked great, and was easily stowed in the overhead bin on the plane! It’s much cheaper than the carts that are dedicated to carrying car seats.

So many good things to say about this coffee maker, June 25, 2016

This review is from: Cuisinart Brew Central DCC-1200 12 Cup Programmable Cofeemaker (Black/Silver) (Kitchen)
I purchased this item a few months ago. It’s been nothing but impressive.

We replaced a Black & Decker coffee maker after it spewed coffee all over our countertop for the hundredth time.

So many good things to say about this coffee maker. First is the temp control. Personally, we keep the carafe temperature on low and still find the coffee hot enough to hold its temp in the cup once it’s been poured.

Secondly, really love the auto turn-off feature, ours is set at 3.5 hours, so it turns off just as we’re rushing out of the door for work (and yes, the coffee is still ripping hot, even to the end).

Third, auto turn-on is great, but we expect our coffee maker to do this. The self clean feature is neat. And the carafe pours without dribbling.

Overall a great product for the price. I definitely recommend it.

Our third DCC-1200 has failed. We give up. These coffee makes have a well documented electrical design flaw. After some use heat causes cracking in the circuit board which makes the on/off button to stop working intermittently. Cuisinart customer service will not admit the fault and will make you pay to ship it to them where they may or may not fix it under warranty. Do not buy this coffee maker.

Works Great Until it Lights on Fire… Yes, it Lights on FIRE!, October 17, 2012
    By

This review is from: Cuisinart Brew Central DCC-1200 12 Cup Programmable Cofeemaker (Black/Silver) (Kitchen)
The Cuisinart DCC-1200 is one of the coolest looking coffeemakers around; but after it tries to kill you, your opinion will change.

My wife purchased this coffee maker two years ago and just this morning it made a loud “Pop” sound and proceeded to set itself on fire. The burner area was red hot, the coffee in the pot was boiling, the plastic around the burner was melting, and smoke was pouring out of it. My wife and I were both upstairs just before this incident and luckily she just happened to go downstairs and heard a “Popping” sound from the kitchen and was curious enough to investigate further.

She pulled out the glass pot, unplugged the coffeemaker, and tossed it outside in the grass where it continued to smolder. The smell of melted plastic and burned wire filled the kitchen. IF THIS HAPPENED WITH US UPSTAIRS IT WOULD HAVE STARTED A HUGE KITCHEN FIRE; IF THIS HAPPENED WITH NOBODY HOME THE ENTIRE HOUSE COULD HAVE BURNED DOWN.

After searching Google for “Cuisinart coffeemaker fire” I was blown away to find HUNDREDS of reports of the same exact thing happening to other people. Please do the search yourself before buying this coffeemaker.

After this incident and reviewing the other reports of fire, I will NEVER buy a Cuisinart coffeemaker again. I cannot believe that this coffeemaker has not been recalled. When an electrical appliance fails, it should short out, not set itself on fire.

If your Cuisinart DCC-1200 coffeemaker hasn’t caught fire yet, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO NOT *EVER* LEAVE THE POT UNATTENDED. ALSO, I WOULD BE VERY AFRAID TO USE THE AUTO TIMER JUST IN CASE IT LIGHTS ITSELF ON FIRE BEFORE YOU WAKE UP; and keep a fire extinguisher handy.

We reported this incident to the Consumer Product Safety Commission; hopefully they will force a recall and save someone’s life. This is not a rare occurrence and Cuisinart’s current response appears to be ignoring the problem and hoping that nobody gets hurt or killed.
