I purchased these as well as another set that looks almost exactly the same but is sold by kidsland. The ones sold by kidsland were much better quality and even a few dollars cheaper! The ones sild by kidsland wer thicker and less flimsy. They also clicked together much better.

I have five children and they all love to play and build with things like Legos, Lincoln Logs, and Tinker Toys. I knew when I saw these “Mommy’s Choice Snowflake Plastic Building Blocks 500 Pieces | Awesome Activity and Construction Toys for Children | Enjoy Endless Fun | Nice Gift for Kids in Your Holiday List” that they would love these too. And I was right! 🙂

First of all, these come with an awesome carrying case. That will help keep all of these little pieces picked up when they are not in use. I also love all of the different color choices. I believe there are 12 different colors. Some of these have holes in the middle of them, while others have a letter or a number in the middle instead.

These went together smoothly I thought, though younger kids (under 3 or so, which probably shouldn’t use them anyways if they still put things in their mouths) might struggle to get them to click into place. My kids (ages 3-11) all did great with them, and they have so much fun creating with these. This comes with a booklet with some ideas to build, but my kids have no problem coming up with all sorts of ideas on their own.

These are an Amazon Prime item and therefore they arrived within 2 days. They were shipped with some other items that I had ordered and the product and it’s packaging arrived in perfect condition.

Great Educational Toy | Hard to Connect, September 29, 2016

I got these for my four-year-old daughter who loves to build. She has a set of engineering toys somewhat similar to these and she spent so much time building with those in a completely absorbed and focused manner. I figured she would love these, too, and thought it would be a good change since they’re designed a bit differently than those.

First off, there are 500 of these in assorted colors. I love the color choices. They’re all designed the same as far as connections. However, some of them have simple holes in the center and others have numbers and symbols instead of holes (e.g. 1, 2, 3… +, =, x). This makes it so that you can use them for building as well as counting and mathematics. It comes with a small booklet that shows different designs that can be made with these (e.g. Ferris wheel, house, tree) but not instructions. It’s simple enough to build those things by looking, though. Something I love about these is that they come in a plastic storage box that has a lid and handle. This makes it so easy for clean-up and storage and for keeping the pieces from getting lost.

The pieces are thin and hard plastic. They’re sturdy and don’t break when building. The sky is the limit as far as what you can build with them so your child can get hours and hours of fun out of them, depending on how much they like this type of toy. Even being adults, my husband and I both like to build with these. It’s a fun way that we can spend time with our daughter.

The only thing I don’t like about this toy is that the pieces are somewhat hard to connect to one another. You have to give them a pretty good push and that can get complicated when you have a big bunch of them connected. They stay together quite well, but once you build a clump of them and begin to start pushing new pieces together, it can cause other ones to disconnect and fall. My daughter gets very frustrated by this. It’s hard for her to get the pieces together and when she does, it is very frustrating for her creation to start falling apart. She doesn’t like having to reconnect pieces she worked hard to get together. She tells me, “Mommy, these don’t stick,” and I hear her letting out little “Ugh!” sounds from frustration.

If these were easier to stick together and stay together, I would give the toy five stars because they are a great idea. However, I have to give them four stars because they’re a bit too frustrating for smaller children in particular, even though the recommended age by the manufacturer is age three on up.

I received this product at a discount in exchange for product testing and a review.
