This review is from: Ridgid R2611 Random Orbit Sander Replacement Backing Pad (2-PACK) # 301239001-2PK
The replacement pad has the same design flaw as the original pad. The base ( part that attaches to the sander with screws) is constructed of a hard plastic material; it needs to be made of metal. The screws work themselves loose through vibrations, heat, general use, and then destroy the integrity of the plastic holes holding the screws in place. This unbalances the pad, it tears through the plastic, and flys off the sander across the table. It is ruined. After having this happen to three pads (impossible to buy in a store thereby causing you to wait a week for replacement ones to arrive through the mail), I bought a new sander chosen because of its metal pad base, and returned the Rigid to the store for a refund.

Fits perfectly! All the bad reviews/comments made about the Ridgid Ortbitor “possibly” made by people who don’t know how to use it. I’ve had mine for six years and replaced the foam pad because of my mistake. Great machine, if you follow the instructions!

these pads are best sold by two like this package. The Ridged sander these go on is a great sander and these pads work well but keep one in stock because they wear out faster than usual. This MAY be due to how aggressive the sander is. Make sure to use blue locktite on the screws when you mount to new pad.

This review is from: Simpson Strong Tie WBSK Workbench and Shelving Hardware Kit (Tools & Home Improvement)
Very easy to use kit. Allows you to make a custom size bench in both length and height. I first painted the brackets black to provide some contrast I left the screws alone. Cut all the 2×4’s and birch 3/4″ plywood to make a 2 layer top. Assembly was straightforward. I used my Milwaukee impact ratchet. I wouldn’t want to use a manual screwdriver. Once put together it provides a very stable table. I mounted a 4″ vise on the end without issue.
I made the bottom shelf higher which allowed me to store my floor jack and stands underneath. The lower shelf stores all my oil, parts, paint, etc. Mounted a peg board along the wall behind with a LED shop light and the Harbor Freight combo tool cabinet on the end. I’m well organized now. I also put locking casters under the bench which raised it a tad but make it much easier to move if needed.

I recently ordered this kit to build a workbench I found plans for online. While this kit comes with plans that it’s specifically designed for, I ended up making something a fair bit bigger (2′ deep and 8′ long) that you can see in the attached photo.
I can’t evaluate the included plans, but the brackets and screws are high quality and this is a convenient package. I’m very happy with how my workbench turned out and it’s plenty stable for my purposes (and I’ve tested it out by hopping onto it a few times).
If you’re looking for something that’s ready out of the box, I think this is a great option and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. My only reason for knocking off one star is I don’t think there’s actually much savings versus buying the components individually, if you have a hardware store nearby that sells them.

Very easy to use this kit to make a garden potting bench.
I chose to use pressure treated lumber. At the big orange box, their 1×4 is not the same thickness as the 1×6. This is because the latter is sold as decking and is nominally 5/4 inch. (My local store did not have true 1×6 in stock.) Not a big deal and the bench looks great.
The potting bench is a variation using kit WBSK. The online materials list calls for decking screws, but there are not sufficient included with the package. Had some 2.5″ in the garage, which I used for the cross braces and some 2.0″, deployed for attaching the surface tops.
Most of the time was involved with cutting the wood. All cuts are straight chops, no angles needed. Very well thought out product. You might be able to save a few dollars by buying angle fittings yourself, but the Simpson kit is thoroughly engineered and works.

Poor design causes pad to vibrate off the sander.,
