very realistic illustrations and intelligent writing, June 24, 2003
    By A Customer
we are a family with 2 truck loving boys- our house is full of heavy machinery type books- this one is probably the boys’ and our favourite because the illustrations are very nice and very realistic- but any book can have a great picture of a truck right?- what distinguishes this book from all the rest is that the descriptions of the machinery is really interesting and intelligent- there are no silly little sentence like: “a bulldozer is big!”- rather, the paragraph for each picture really holds everyone’s attention- i’m just sorry he hasn’t written any other truck-type books!

My 3 y/o son loves big trucks and this has been the best book (and we’ve read a lot) that teach the different construction machines. Great book!

Great Truck Book!, September 13, 2011

This is a favorite at our house. I picked it up as a Bargain Book at the local grocery store, mostly because it was cheap, but it’s been a huge hit! Good pictures and interesting to read. It names all the various trucks, but also has wonderful descriptions of what is happening in the pictures. Great use of adjectives. The trucks are also labeled on some of the pages, which is helpful (if you’re a parent, still learning all the names!). There’s even a female driving one of the forklifts, if you’re interested in diversity at all. My 3 year old actually has most of this book memorized; we’ve read it so much!
