This mixer works great! I never knew that the squirrel mixer existed until I found it at a local paint store a couple of years ago. I have used other types of mixers to attach to a drill – a flat blade with fins and a propeller type blade (and of course, the manual wooden stick method). Those types still take a LONG time to mix paint and never really fully mix a gallon.

This Homax Squirrel mixer completely mixes a gallon of paint in only about 30 sec to a minute. The design is unique and brilliant. Do have a small container of water available to clean off the paint when finished mixing (run the mixer in the water). The only pain in cleaning is the two-part mixer, where you have to snap off the bottom to clean between the two “hamster wheel” parts (but this allows half of the mixer to be used for quart containers).

We were so impressed with the mixing that we decided to use it for a two-part epoxy garage floor coating project (knowing that we would have to sacrifice the mixer due to difficulty in cleaning and the epoxy curing to the mixer). It worked flawlessly on the very thick epoxy and we were able to mix the thick, glue-like substance with ease. We have since purchased a replacement mixer since it is now indispensible. Highly recommended!

This thing is incredible! You can completely mix a gallon or a quart with this thing in seconds. The bottom half unsnaps and it’s good for a quart, or keep the “basket” intact and do a gallon literally in seconds! I use a drill on it’s high speed (highest geared) setting and start at the bottom of the can and gently pull up and rotate.I’ve used 6 year old paint and it was whipped as good as new. When you’re done mixing, it’s a breeze to clean. Just run it under warm water and spin with a bit of wiping as you go.. A brilliant design.

make sure this is the size you want. this will fit 1 and 2 gallon containers, not a 5 gallon bucket.
