It is a must have if you like to do the minor bath and kitchen jobs by yourself. It is very clear to guide you one step by the other. However, I think it is too hard for me to finish any project by myself. Any way, it is a good book.

You won’t be disapointed with this oldy but goody. Everything you need to get started. This book is great for repairs and the basics. I would suggest some plumbing knowledge however.

I’m a beginner looking to tackle various home improvement projects and want to do it myself with the help of manuals. I’m looking for manuals with instructions that are descriptive as possible with a lot of illustrations. This one is ok. It’s a little lacking in the instructions department but serviceable enough if you’re fairly competent.

Too light-weight. I recommend the Foremost book instead. It’s more professionally done with comprehensive information.

I am a first-time mobile home owner. I am not a contractor or repairman. I don’t know the ins-and-outs of maintenance and repair. I was looking for a book to help me learn about my mobile home — how it is put together, how to maintain and how to repair it. I ordered this book through my library to see if it was as good as it sounded.

I learned about electrical outlets and about what could cause them to stop working. I was able to fix my electrical outlet because of the detailed information in this book. I learned about the walls and what kinds of fasteners to use in order to successfully hang pictures on my walls. I learned about ways to change the look of the walls and ceilings. I also learned a lot about how mobile homes are put together. This information is helpful to me even though I don’t plan on replacing my floor or roof. If that kind of repair needs to be done I have a little knowledge about what is involved in the procedure.

After borrowing this book from the library twice and renewing it as often as the library would let me, I decided I should just go ahead and buy the book. I’m glad I did.

I hope this review is helpful.

Not worth the price they’re selling it for, July 9, 2005

This book has very good pictures and detailed instructions, but is basically something you could put together at any copy store. It has the plastic ringed connector, and looks like a paperback manual someone copied for me. It definitely isn’t worth the new price of $39.95 and still not worth the used price of $20-25. It’s more useful for an actual trailer than a manufactured home and leaves out a lot of the more realistic details for upgrade that someone might want to do to make this look less like a trailer inside.
