I bought these after my kids went crazy over their cousins’ snap cubes. Upon opening them, I was very disappointed with how difficult it was to snap just about every-third cube into place (and to take them apart). I am 29, and I was not able to snap many of them all the way. I have a 3 year old and a dexterous 1 year old who were even more frustrated. Additionally, some cubes fitted too loosely and wouldn’t stay in place.

I usually don’t write reviews, but my disappointment speaks loudly on this one. I will have to find out the brand that my sister bought and get those instead. It also came in a plastic bag that is not reusable so you need to find something to store these in.

I already had a set of Unifix cubes which were well loved and well-worn, so when my mother in law recommended these to go with a workbook, I turned her down at first. But then when she bought us a set anyway, I was thrilled. I didn’t realize from the picture online that they could snap together any way you want. But this makes them far more versatile than the Unifix (which only snap top/bottom). You can make different shapes out of these, including rectangles or capital letters. You can make 3-D shapes too. You can illustrate many basic mathematical concepts more creatively. My four year old even liked lacing them onto a shoelace for fun!

I am a big fan of cubes in general, but these are such an upgrade.

Have had these before that snapped together easier. These were stiff and difficult to get apart as well as together. I do like them for teaching math concepts in a hands-on manner. The different colors help the student to visualize two groups going together to get the total. Unfortunately, the only problem with them is that they are not as sturdy as the set I had with a different curriculum (had to return them at the end of the year) so I gave them a 3 star instead of a 4 or 5 star rating.
